Tonda Perez

Tonda Lynn Perez of Junction, Texas passed away on December 14, 2020 at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo.

Tonda was born September 25, 1961 in Junction, Texas to Gerald and Sue Smith.  She was a lifelong resident of Junction.

She is preceded in death by her father, Gerald Finley Smith.

Tonda married her high school sweetheart Julio Perez who passed away in 2011.  They had five children together: Jeremie Perez, 42, of Austin; Dana Perez, 41, of Kansas City, MO; Jennifer Fenton, 39, of Pasadena; Jason Perez, 37, of Junction; and Cassandra Wilburn, 31, of Junction.

Tonda later met the love of her life, Manuel Gomez, and spent her remaining 24 years by his side and loved her five children as his own.  They shared many amazing memories together.

Tonda is also survived by her five siblings: Brian Smith, Scott Smith, Stacy Pagan, Leah Smith, and Samantha Katt. She has ten grandchildren: Bradon Perez, Kristen Perez, Ashlyn Ellis, Sheyenne Riojas, Dakota Perez, Finley Perez, Jayton Perez, Caydom Perez, Serenity Flathers, Jackson Perez; and one great-grandchild, Sophia Ramirez; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Tonda worked for Girling Home Healthcare for many years where she touched the lives of many people. Tonda was dearly loved in this community and never met a stranger.  She was a kind woman who was always quick to help others in need.  Those that were lucky to be touched by her love understood that the quality of her existence far exceeds the quantity of time which one lives.  Tonda's smile alone brought so much joy to her family and everyone that was lucky to have known her.  She gave us all such courage and hope, reminding us all of the preciousness of life.  If there was anything at all she loved most, it was her family.
