Thomas Gerald Curtis, 86, of Junction passed from this life on March 23, 2020 in Menard.
Gerald was born February 9, 1934 to Ray Curtis and Ida Smith in Junction. He grew up attending school in Segovia and later Junction with his three sisters and one brother. He married Jonnie Hollmig in 1959 and had two daughters, Marcy and Tommie Lynn.
Gerald was known around the area for his "Blade Man" abilities. He loved growing tomatoes and refinishing furniture in his spare time.
He married Carolyn Nehr in 1993 and his family grew adding three step-daughters, Kris, Kathy, and Stephanie; and step-son, Russel.
Gerald is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ray, Jr.; and step-daughter, Stephanie.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Carolyn Curtis; three sisters, Elsie Murr, Norene Herbst, and Elaine Carpenter; two daughters and their husbands, Marcy and Steve Kelley, Tommie and Homer Mansfield; three grandchildren, Candace Cornell, Stephanie Kelley, Curtis Kelley; step-children, numerous step-grandchildren, and great-step-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Open visitation will be held 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Friday, March 27, 2020 at Kimble Funeral Home. Due to current social distancing circumstances visitors to the funeral home will be limited to 10 persons at any given time. Private family graveside services will be held at Junction City Cemetery.
Gerald loved plants and flowers. The family would appreciate tributes that honor his passion for all things green.
