Steve Miller

It is with deep sorrow that I, Carolyn Miller, announce the peaceful passing at home within the circle of my arms and held close to my heart ofmy beloved husband Steve on April 12th
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorris and Georgia Miller, and his faithful companion, Youri, our retired military working dog. He is survived by his sister Linda Young of Iowa and 3 nephews, and his much loved canine companions, Nina and Zaela.
Steve will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by the brother of his heart, George Scroggins (wife Anita) of Little Rock, Arkansas, the sister of his heart, Carla Meyners Carter of Kerrville, and his many treasured friends.
Steve was born in Detroit, Michigan and his family relocated to the Fort Worth area when he was an infant. With much pride and love for Texas Steve considered himself a Texan.
After high school, Steve served this great country by enlisting in the army and firmly believed in God, County, and Family.
He settled in the Junction area almost 20 years ago and it is in this beautiful place that we made a home and built a wonderful life.
Steve did not want a funeral service, a wake, or visitation. Instead, in his words... "Tell my friends to listen to some good classic rock, have a cold beer, and put a quarter on the pool table for me."
In keeping with his wishes, the 1st Annual Steve Miller 9-Ball Tournament will be held on May 5th at Headwaters Saloon in Harper. A celebration of his life will begin at 1:00 p.m., the tournament will begin at 3:00 p.m., food will be served between 5:00 - 6:00 and good classic rock will be performed by Steve's favorite local band, Junction's own Travis Powers Band.
Proceeds from the tournament will be donated to Steve's favorite charity, Headwaters for Heroes, in support of our wounded military heroes.
In lieu of cards or flowers, Steve requested donations to this charity or any other honoring our military service members. Donations made to Headwaters for Heroes are tax deductible.
