Sheila Florence Smith-Townsend, 87, of Junction, Texas, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018. Sheila was the only child born to Reginald and Alice Smith on November 19, 1930, in Nottingham, England. She grew up in the midst of World War 11 in England, recounting many stories of bombs and rationing. Sheila lived and traveled in Europe, South America and much of the United States before settling in Rochester, Minnesota. She also spent the next 25 years there working as an Addiction Counselor before retiring in Junction, Texas. Sheila was a very kind and generous person who enjoyed helping others. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Nursing homes and hospitals in her earlier years. She had love for all animals and supported the Humane Society of America. Sheila had a very unique outlook on life. One of her favorite sayings, was getting old, Aint for sissies.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory, are her son, Michael Townsend of Junction Texas; her daughter, Pauline Gervais of San Antonio, Texas; grandsons, Dr. William J. Pate, Michael S. Pate and John Townsend; her great grandchildren, Carmen and Juliana Pate.
