Phil Stapp

Phil Stapp, 89, of Junction, Texas, passed from this life at his residence on Friday, May 31, 2024.  Phil was born on November 1, 1934 in Kimble County to Hugh Chester Stapp and Maggie “Peg” Lee Whitworth Stapp.  Phil graduated from Junction High School in 1953.  He then went on to attended Schreiner College.  After College he enlisted in the US Army.   After serving in the Army, he ranched the same property all of his life while doing other jobs to earn a paycheck which included, truck driving and working in the oil fields. Phil’s spiritual life was very important to him as he became a lay minister.  He was also a member of the Junction Masonic Lodge.  

Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Chester and Peg Whitworth Stapp; and brother, Kennon Stapp.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Shane Stapp, Kody Stapp, Adam Stapp (wife Connie); daughters, Lesa Stapp Ranton (husband Rusty), Duchess Schwarz, numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the First Presbyterian Church of Junction with Rev. Jim & Laurie Barker and Lewis Allen Officiating.

Honorary pallbearers are The Birthday Breakfast Group.

Memorials in Phil’s name may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Junction .
