Patricia Glover

Patricia Jenna Glover, my wife and best friend, passed away on March 11, 2021 from Cancer and Dementia. Her struggle had been long but she fought bravely.

Trish was born in Leeds, England on March 22, 1941. As a young child, she survived the bombing of London by the Germans. She was old enough to recall being taken to the bomb shelter with her Mother and Grandparents. Trish was a born Jew. Many of her distant relatives died in concentration camps. She did not practice her faith but was very proud of it. Trish enlisted in the Women’s Army Corp (English), attended college and became a Nurse. Her best friend, a fellow nurse, was killed by an IRA bomb in the Northern Ireland Conflict. She was a Devotee of the Monarchy and spoke “the Queens English”. Aside from her 2 sons, Brandon Glover and Donald W. Glover Jr., her dogs were her life. Trish would pray nightly that all of her babies would meet her at “The Rainbow Bridge”.

Trish was preceded in death by her sons, Jimmy and Donald W. Glover Jr.; and her beloved dogs Trooper, Bebe and Sarge.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years, Donald W. Glover Sr. of Junction; son, Brandon Livingston Glover of Grapevine; beloved daughters-in-law, Rebecca Dominguez and Sabrina Miller; and her beloved dogs Blaze, Riley and Grace.

At her bedside, I watched as Blaze and Riley kept a protective and loving vigil over her. I had to remove Riley from her bed so Trish could be taken away. She was loved by all she touched with her wit and grace. She loved Kimble Library, its staff and Librarians. She was an avid reader until dementia took that pleasure from her. Trish loved the game of 42, and was an avid competitor. Trish was known for her dry English humor, an intelligence that was almost incomprehensible and her warm and loving smile. She educated both Don and Brandon about the Monarchy and its line of succession. She loved England but she loved America more. Trish will be dearly missed by her very best friend Margaret Lutz. She also leaves behind many close friends including Rena Sue, who had a friendship spanning decades and also hosted many holidays and cherished their friendship, and Phyllis Peden who was beloved for her 42 game, her honesty and friendship. Trish was always grateful to have been a part of Don Jr. and Brandon’s upbringing. They were both privileged to have two mothers. She was there for Don Jr.’s weddings and Brandon’s many graduations. Her heart was inclusive and she included Brandon’s college alumni and friends as her children also. She faithfully attended gatherings and celebrations also and will be remembered as “Momma Trish” and held a special place for Harold Hardy, Scott Swaim, Casey Saldana, Valerie Yeschke, Michael Larrondo, Sarah Liguez and Amy Vance. She stayed in contact and was so very proud of them all and their success in their lives. She watched over them all to the end. How blessed may one be to have touched so many lives and be loved by so many? Regina and Andrew (Kimble County Library) were her special friends. I thank them for helping her with her needs when it became difficult for her to do so.  She spent many years traveling Canada, the Lower United States and part of Mexico with her beloved husband Don. She also visited the Grand Canyon and had written a letter about the experience and sent it to her home address and the mail was transported by mule. To those of who are not mentioned please understand that you were in her heart.

A celebration of her life will be held on March 27, 2021 at Full Gospel Church, across from the Deer Horn Tree Locker Plant at Noon. Fellowship and a meal will be after the celebration.
