Olan Ray Raley

Olan Ray Raley 80 of Junction, TX passed from this life peacefully and surrounded by family on June 24, 2024. Olan was born on September 27, 1943 in San Angelo, Texas to James Olan (Cot) Raley and Wilhelmina Alma Marie Spieker Raley. He was drafted into the Army in 1965 and spent two years stationed in Germany and came back with lots of stories to tell. He married his wife Judy in the spring of 1985, and they welcomed their beautiful daughter Jennifer Raye in 1987. In her short amount of time, she had here on this earth she captured not only their hearts but anyone who met her. Olan was loved by many and known for his ability to fix just about anything. Papa could fix it all, just ask his grandkids. He had his water well and windmill service along with small engine repair, chainsaw repair and selling chainsaws. He started his service to the community of being on the city council in 1986 – 1998 and again in 2008 – 2024. He was an avid fisherman that enjoyed the sport of fishing but was never one to eat the spoils of their hard work. With all the fishing trips there were many stories to tell.

Olan is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marlena Raley Smith Terry; and his daughter, Jennifer Ray Raley.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Raley; sister, Minnie Pearl Raley Hooker (Wesley); children, Jeanna Risinger and Phillip (Clint) Risinger; grandchildren, Shelby Williamson, Lexie Ference, Quinton Hernandez, Tanner Risinger and Tyler Risinger; great-grandchildren, Haleigh Rodriguez, Hayden, Trenton and Atley Hernandez and Xavier & Rayleigh Ference all of Junction, TX.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, June 28, 2024 at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Hagood officiating.  Interment will follow at Junction City Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held 5:00 - 7:00 PM, Thursday at Kimble Funeral Home.
