Odevia Rodriguez

Odevia Rodriguez, 84, of Ft. Worth was called home by her Lord on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 in the Medical City Fort Worth Hospital.

Odevia was born March 30, 1937 in Junction, Texas to Margarita Garza and Juan Aguirre Hernandez. Odevia's parents were first generation Hispanic Americans born in Texas.  Odevia went to school up to the eighth grade.  At the age of fifteen, she married Antonio Gauna.  They divorced after 8 years of marriage.  She remarried for the second time and divorced her second husband, Osevio Rodriguez from Mexico after a few years of marriage.  She worked as a care giver, cleaned homes, and at Isaac’s Restaurant.  Odevia was never a stranger and was kind to everyone.  She loved to crochet, needlepoint, paint, draw, and she also had a green thumb.  She loved to dance, listen to music, and go riding around in Junction.  Odevia was a beautiful loving mother, always praying for her children’s safety and for others.  She loved Junction and wanted to live there forever. She lived in Junction most of her life and resided in Fort Worth for the last 6 months.

Mother we miss your presence but we feel your spirit all around us.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Margarita Hernandez.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her five children: Gloria, Jerry, Tony, Linda and Leonard.  She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6PM at Kimble Funeral Home,1010 College Street, Junction, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 114 S. 7th Street, Junction, Texas 76849.
