Nell Maples Jones a beloved mom, nanny and sister, passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones including Francois right by her side after a short battle from cancer. Nell embodied the true essence of strength, serving as an unwavering example of how a mom and nanny should be. She devoted her life to her family, ensuring they were always cared for and never in need. Her love for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her poodle Francois was boundless and undeniable. She was known for her warmth, kindness, and spunky attitude. Everywhere she went she never met a stranger, and was admired for her perfectly styled hair, pressed shirt, Wrangler jeans and signature black Justin Roper boots. 

Nell was born June 23rd, 1949, in Fredericksburg to George Ross Kiser and Myrtle Lillian Adams Kiser. She was the baby of 11 siblings. Nell lived a fulfilling life. She was retired and spent her time antiquing, traveling, watching her grandkids, and great-grandkids play sports, often enjoying Dr Pepper or Sweet Tea. Nell loved Elvis, country music and the majestic sight of Eagles soaring through the sky. 

She is preceded in death by both parents, George Ross Kiser and Myrtle Lillian Kiser; 3 brothers, Mac, Marvin and B.J Kiser; 1 sister Lola Mae Pounders and her late husband Tommy Jones. 

She married Harley Maples Jr. in Junction Texas. They had 2 children: son, Harley I. Maples III of Odessa and daughter, Triva Takeda and husband Terry of Katy. 

Nell’s legacy lives on through her children, Harley (Trey) & Triva and her precious Francois; grandkids, Jolie & husband Juston Barbee, Tyler Takeda & fiancé Alexis, Taylyn, Tegan, and Todd Takeda; 4 great grandkids, Arriya, Kaison, Maverick Oaklee Barbee; and 4 step-great-grandkids, Abel, Axel, Azalea and Araceli (Celi). Her 6 brothers & sisters, Eula Tomlison of Hamlin, Stella Leamons of Austin, J.D Kiser of Jasper, Lloyd Kiser, Dorothy Baker, Melvin Kiser all of Odessa. Along with many beloved nieces and nephews. 

Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews: Tyler, Todd, Tegan Takeda, Juston Barbee, Steven Baker, Jackie Kiser and Dale Ming, Jerry Kiser. 

She became a Christian and accepted Christ along with her brother Melvin Kiser on April 24, 2016. She is no longer suffering or in pain, her body has been healed and cleansed. AMEN. She was very much at peace and ready to go to Heaven. 

A visitation will be held at 5-9:00 PM, Friday, October 4, 2024 at Kimble Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, October 5, 2024 at Kimble Funeral Home in Junction with interment to follow at Junction City Cemetery. Her brother-in-law Walter Leamons whom she loved dearly will be officiating.

The family would like to extend a special thank you Hospice of Odessa, Oncology of Odessa and MD Anderson of Houston for their compassionate care during this time.
