Nagi Soas

Lubbock Nagi Halim Soas, 62, citizen of Hobbs, NM, went to be with the Lord on February 10, 2011, after a brave and long fight with pancreatic cancer.

Nagi was born on January 1, 1949 in Sudan. He was the son of Halim and Kria Soas. Moving from Sudan to the United States when he was 18, Nagi is married to Dalia Soas of Hobbs, NM where they resided with their three children: Saleem, Maggy, and Natalie Soas.

Nagi attended school at Texas AM in Kingsville, TX, where he received dual degrees in Chemical and Gas Engineering. Upon receiving his degrees, Nagi worked through various corporations within the United States and abroad. He moved to Hobbs in 1983 where he worked for Acid Engineering, and then moved on to own and operate Knox Services Inc. In May 2008, he became an Engineering Manager for Arena ResourcesSandridge.

Nagis public Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church, Hobbs, NM at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 15, 2011.

In lieu of floral tributes, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the New Mexico Baptist Childrens Home in Portales, NM, and will be accepted in his honor.
