Myrtle Teeter Jennings

Myrtle L. Teeter Jennings, 84, of Junction who passed from this life on January 20, 2025 at her residence. 

Myrtle was born July 6, 1940 to Albert and Emmie (Potter) Teeter in Commerce, TX. She graduated high school and worked for the Franklin Department Store for two years in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Her greatest passion was caring for the elderly, and continued throughout her life starting at age 16. She married Junior Jennings on December 27, 1960 in Loving, NM. 

Myrtle is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 40 years; sister, Nancy Stevens; grandson, Tyler Lane Eckert; infant great-grandson, Tyler Allen Eckert; brothers-in-law, Carl Tanner and James Stevens.  

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Melody Lanett Eckert and husband Barney Allen, Sr. of San Angelo; sisters, Jean Smith and husband Butch of Carlsbad, NM, Marry Tanner of Carlsbad, Edna Smith and husband Mitt of Carlsbad, Joy Stevens of Hamilton; grandchildren, Barney Alan Eckert JR.(Kasie) of Junction Texas, Terrell Lyn Eckert (Krystal) of Junction; great-grandchildren, Josie Colby and Colton Eckert, Ady Eckert, Allie Eckert and Terrell Jr.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the First Baptist Church of Junction with Kristopher Bransom and Ryan Jewert officiating; interment will follow at Junction City Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8:00 PM, Friday, at Kimble Funeral Home.
