Another cowboy got his wings early morning, September 29, 2018. Mike Kemp grew tired of his long battle with cancer, and died at his home surrounded by his loving wife, Donna and brother-in-law, Larry Dyke.
Mike was born February 18, 1949 in San Angelo to Fred Kemp and Lillian Nixon Kemp. He grew up in West Texas, eventually working on oil rigs from Texas to Dubai. Mike climbed to top position as tool pusher and his friends called him "Driller".
Mike was Baptist. He loved God, his family, friends, and anything chocolate. After moving to Junction, he used his master carpenter skills all across Kimble County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and one son, Tony.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Donna; daughter, Jaclyn Kemp of Odessa; his little shadow, Hannah; one sister, Linda Davenport of St. Mary's, Georgia; step-sons, Michael and Casey Garrett of Houston and six grandchildren who loved their Pa Pa, Hannah Bell, Jake, Lynndsie, Dylan, EJ and Albert "Bubba" Henry. His friends and neighbors, who already miss him, will have to take turns playing Frisbee with his beloved dogs, Dude and Girlfriend.
Rest in peace, Mike Kemp.
