Maxine O. Conklin, 90 years old, was born in Pawnee, Texas on January 16, 1925 to parents B. L. And Daisy Franklin and passed away peacefully in her daughter's home with family at bedside in Morehead City, NC at 4am on Saturday March 21st.
Maxine lived all her life in South Texas until the last 4 years where she went to live with her daughter and her family in Morehead City, NC.
Maxine met Officer Claude A. Conklin, Jr. in Corpus Christi, Texas during WWII and were the very first couple married at The Waldren Field Chapel on the U.S. Naval Air Base in Corpus Christi, Texas. They celebrated 50 years of marriage until the death of her husband in 1989.
Maxine O. Conklin spent her life dedicated to being a devoted wife and mother. In her later years she became a real estate broker and owned her own company in Sugar Land, Texas.
Maxine O. Conklin is preceded in death by her parents, husband and 3 sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Claudia Conklin (John) Farrell of Morehead City, NC; her son, Larry Michael (Barbara) Conklin of Junction (Port Aransas) Texas, grandchildren: Christine, Michael, and Lawrence Barnard and Bryan, Christopher, and Michael Conklin and great- grandchildren; Victoria, Madison, Ryan and Riley.
Private family services will be on Saturday March the 28th at Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christi, Texas. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband.
