Mary Bankston

Mary Virginia Bankston, 92, of Junction, Texas passed away on September 7, 2016 at a hospital in Junction.

Mary was born May 30, 1924 in Wills Point, Texas to Willburn and Ollie Mae (Walker) Furrh. She married William F. Atkins, Jr. on June 1, 1946 and they were married until his death on February 13, 1970. She later married J.C. Bankston on December 4, 1971 until his passing on October 22, 1997.

Mary was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Those left to honor her memory include her brother, Buddy Furrh and wife Elizabeth; children, Franklin Atkins and wife Mickey, Annette Wallace and husband Edward, Thomas Atkins, Judy Robertson, Mike Atkins and wife Gwinn, Bonnie Lawler and husband Walter, Katherine McKenzie and husband Mark; step-son, Jimmy Bankston; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Donna Carroll officiating. Interment will follow at Junction City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
