Lois Nell Tisdale, 93, of Junction, passed from this life on January 7, 2020 at a local hospital.
Lois Nell Luxton was born July 23, 1926 to J.T. Luxton and Annie Maples Luxton, in Ozona Texas. Nell was the last born of 11 children. Following the Great Depression she lived with her family throughout West Texas. She was baptized by Sister Fisher in 1935 or 1936 in the Pecos River in Peyote, Texas.
Nell married her first husband, Herbert ''Hub'' Lee Sanders in the 1940's and they had 4 children, Patsy Sanders Raney, Nellie Sanders Person, Robert ''Bob'' Sanders and Herbert Lee Sanders Jr. In the late 1950's Nell married Shelby Singleton and they had 3 children, Mary Kay Schober, Rhonda Corderio, and Lisa Allison. In late 1960 she married Harmon Ned Galloway until his passing in 1974. In the late 1970's Nell met the love of her life, Louis Leon Tisdale Jr. She opened her first clothing store in Menard Texas in 1980 where she continued operating until the late 2000's. She loved music, especially Western Swing and you could find her and Louis on many a weekend two stepping the night away. Nell loved to shop, and there was never a sale too far away. She loved plants, especially flowers and her yard was always filled with beautiful blooms. She was a fantastic cook and she really loved feeding people. If you liked something special, she always made sure it was waiting for you at home. Mom moved from the ranch in Ft. McKavett to her home in Junction about 2012, where she lived until her passing.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, all 10 of her siblings, her daughter Patsy Raney and the love of her life, husband Louis Tisdale.
She leaves many many survivors, including her children, Nellie Person of Ingram Texas, Robert ''Bob'' Sanders and wife Janice of Ingram Texas, Herbert Lee ''H.L.'' Sanders Jr. of Junction Texas, Mary Kay and husband Gus Schober of Junction Texas, Rhonda and husband Georgie Corderio of Knickerbocker Texas, and Lisa and husband James Allison Kerrville Texas. Nell leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel. She will be laid to rest beside her husband Louis in the Ft McKavett Cemetery at 2:00 PM. Her services will be officiated by Dr. Kenneth Hyatt and music performed by Pastor Cynthia Hyatt, from Victory Harvest Church.
Visitation will be held 6:30 - 8:30 Friday evening at Kimble Funeral Home.
