Katherine Cowsert Jacoby

Katherine Cowsert Jacoby, 67, of Clifton, Texas went home to her Lord on July 14, 2024. She was born July 25, 1956 in Kilgore, Texas to Gully & Polly Cowsert. 

Katherine attended Junction High School and graduated from Texas Tech University in 1979. Katherine loved people, horses and cats. She was active in the equestrian world and showed at upper levels of dressage. 

Katherine was an entrepreneur with a creative and adventurous spirit. After college she moved to Dubuque, Iowa and from there went to Jakarta in Indonesia where she lived for 18 months then traveled across Europe for a month. 

After returning from her international adventures, she bought a farm in Clifton and began raising Warm Blood horses. She established a traveling tack shop and had friends in the equestrian world across the southwestern United States. She also loved encouraging young riders and volunteered her time with the local Pony Club. Her love of building and creating were displayed and sold at a shop in Clifton that she shared with a close friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents. She will be honored and missed by her sister, Karen Maynard and husband Stephen; brother, Gully Cowsert, III and wife Betty Sue; niece and namesake, Katherine Krueger and husband Ross; nephews, Gully Cowsert, IV and Sean Maynard; grand-nephew, Tobias Krueger; and aunt, Peggy Bedair.

Visitation will be held at Kimble Funeral Home on Friday, July 19, 2024 from 5:00-7:00pm.

A graveside service will be held at Copperas Cemetery in Junction on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Jim and Rev. Laurie Barker officiating.

Pallbearers are Gully Cowsert, IV, Sean Maynard, Dicky Oliver, John Van Moort, Clint Smith, and Ross Krueger.

Memorials may be made to your local volunteer fire department or to the charity of your choice.
