Joshua Grant Bermes, 47, passed from this life on August 31, 2022 at his residence in Kendalia.
Josh was born July 28, 1975 to George and Janet (Murr) Bermes in Odessa, TX. He grew up on a small farm in Gardendale, and enjoyed raising show steers, and living for Friday night playing for the Permian Panthers. Josh lived in Midland for many years where he raised his family, and started his business building homes. In 2015, Josh and his family moved to the hill country where Josh had always longed to live. In the Hill Country, he continued building custom homes where he blessed each house by writing scripture directly on the wood framing of the home. Much like everything in his day-to-day life he loved paying attention to every detail of the homes he built.
Josh made close friendships through his Bible study group, grew his faith by becoming a “pilgrim” in the Walk to Emmaus, and continuing his growth by becoming a volunteer. He enjoyed attending father-son retreats and hiking with his son Bronson, and enjoying Texas country music with his daughter, Daisy. His large personality and quick humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He had a big heart and is special to so many.
Josh is preceded in death by his grandparents, Davis and Eula Murr and grandmother, Connie Bermes.
Those left to honor his memory include his parents, George and Janet Bermes; his daughter, Daisy Grace Bermes; his son, Bronson Lane Bermes and their mother, Michelle Bermes; brother, Justin “Judge” Bermes, his wife Jessica and their children Knox and Henry Bermes; sister, Geni Bermes Russell, her husband, Justin and their children, Gus and Sunni Russell.
