Joe Eckert, Jr.

Joe Ernest Eckert, Jr., 55, of London, Texas passed from this life on April 28, 2015 at a hospital in San Antonio. He was born April 16, 1954 to Joe Ernest, Sr. and Peggy Wright Eckert in Rankin, Texas.

Jr. grew up in West Texas on ranches. He was very athletic, and some of the records he set in high school still stand today. Anything he wanted to do he could find a way to get it done. He married Patty Pearl Eckert on February 15, 1985 in London, Texas.

Jr. was hurt in an industrial accident at age 21, but he never gave up, and accomplished many things afterwards. He enjoyed working on anything outdoors; hunting and fishing; and hauled and cut firewood all over Texas. The last few years he did woodworking projects. He enjoyed his family and barbequing and was a good cook as well. He never met a stranger and always saw the good in everyone. He would give the shirt off his back and help anyone who needed it.
Jr. is preceded in death by his father; uncle, David Wright; nephew, Tyler Lane Eckert; and great-nephew, Tyler Allen Eckert.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Patty; daughters, Jatisa Norton, and Jamie Eckert; son, JW Pearl and wife Stephanie; grandchildren, Shaden, Michelle and Justin Pearl, Jaycie and Joely Norton, Jayme, Keana and Khloe Atkins; his mother, Peggy Eckert; brothers, Bill Eckert and Barney Eckert, Sr. and wife Melody; sisters, Verna Larramore, Anita Flippin and husband Kirby, and Martha Trimble and husband Travis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a family man; he loved being a dad, husband, grandfather, brother, son, and an uncle more than anything in the world. He will be missed very much. We love you bunches and bunches.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 3, 2015 at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the London Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-7:00 PM, Saturday at Kimble Funeral Home.
