Gwendolyn Ruth ''Gwen'' Whitlock McDonald was born February 14, 1948 in Junction, TX to E.J. Whitlock and Cleo Cox Whitlock. She was one of seven children; three brothers and four sisters.
She started work at an early age doing many jobs from picking cotton and vegetables to restaurant work and as a dispatcher for a taxi cab company. Her family moved around a lot as a child and as a result she was unable to attend school regularly. She loved working in the service of others and though she was never able to realize her dream of being a nurse, she often worked in jobs that exposed her to the public. She worked as staff and management at restaurants and cafes, the local nursing home and was co-owner and operator of The Rose Night Club and Ray's Corner Grocery. Even though Gwen didn't attend church regularly she had a strong faith in God and was baptized as a Baptist.
She married William Clenton McDonald Sr. August 14, 1964 in Junction, TX. She and Clenton had three children; two boys and one girl.
Gwen enjoyed playing games with friends and family, computer games and watching music videos on her computer. She also enjoyed slot machines and bingo. Her love of bingo introduced her to many friends at the Kerrville VFW Auxiliary Post 1480 where she was a Life Member.
She will forever be cherished in the lives of family and friends. She is survived by her husband William Clenton McDonald of Junction. Her children: William Clinton McDonald Jr and wife Laura of Ft Davis, TX; Vickie Ruth McDonald of Junction; Raymond Ray McDonald and wife Christina of Junction; her sister: Leona Faye Mouser of Liberty Hill, TX; her brothers: Leonard Ray Whitlock and wife Kathy; E.J. Whiltock Jr. and wife Sheila; Bobby Joe Whitlock and wife Doris; all of Junction, TX; her grandsons: Max Lannom of Ft Davis; Bucky Wayne McDonald and his wife Kayla and their children; her great-grandchildren: Kevin and Savannah of Sonora, TX; and her fur-babies Sassy and Duke.
