Gilberta Pierce

NEW BRAUNFELS Gilberta Lenora Smokey Pierce, 92,
formerly of Junction, passed from this life on
February 27, 2014 at a care facility in New Braunfels.
She was born March 14, 1921 in Grapeland, Texas to Gilbert
W. and Cora Irene Walling Cherry.

Gilberta married Robert Bob Pierce on
January 20, 1940 in Lamesa, Texas. She spent 25 years
working at the Los Fresnos State Bank in Los Fresnos, TX as
the V.P. of operations. She and Bob moved to Junction
in 1986. Gilberta was a member of the Cactus Study
Club, many bridge clubs, and the Church of Christ.


She was preceded in death by her husband in December of 2004
and sisters, Virginia Moore, Jodi Polland, and Winona
King.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her children,
Norman Lyndal Pierce of New Braunfels, Brenda L. Adams of
Arlington, Ita Sandra Steele of White Oak, and James
Gilbert Jim Pierce of Ft. Collins, Co 11 grandchildren 15
greatgrandchildren 2 great great grandchildren, sisters, Juanita Crawford of Levelland,
Wanda Harman of Ruidoso, Shirley Fore of Gilmer, and Kay
Wright of Bullard along with a host of other relatives and
friends.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at the Junction City Cemetery with King Burney officiating.
ation will be held 1112:00, Wednesday prior to services at
Kimble Funeral Home.
