Gene Stapp Sr., 87, of Junction passed away on July 12, 2015 in Fredericksburg. He was born December 8, 1927 in Sheffield, Texas to Ace Franklin and Carrie Josephine (Harris) Stapp.

Gene's early life was spent in West Texas and Kimble County with his parents and seven brothers. He was a plumber by trade. Gene had a love of horseracing, fishing, spending time with family, and liked to walk a little on the wild side. In his later years of life, his greatest joy was seeing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and being able to spoil them.

He married Patricia St. Clair Stapp on February 3, 1974 in Midway; she preceded him in death in 2013.

Those left to honor his memory include his children, Gene Stapp, Jr. and wife Annie of Arkansas, Nancy Smith and husband Johnny, Patricia Adams and husband Bobby all of Junction, Carl Stapp and wife Michelle of Weatherford, Ronnie Davis and wife Marie of New Braunfels; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Sara Wickham, Slade Smith, Robert Adams, Alyssa Smith, Zoe Stapp, Brack Smith, Libby, Jaxton and Brice Adams, John and Isobella Wickham, and Randy Lee Davis; brother, John Stapp and wife Roseanna of Junction.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Junction City Cemetery with Charles Hagood officiating.
