Elma "Polly" Frances Cowsert

Elma Frances “Polly” Cowsert, 90, of Junction, Texas who passed from this life on December 29, 2022. She was born to Fred O. and Elma Knight Pilant on January 30, 1932 in Dallas, Texas.

She attended North Dallas High School and Sul Ross State University where she met and later married, 1952, Gully Cowsert, Jr. in Dallas. Polly enjoyed working with the livestock on the ranch. She was active in the Presbyterian Church and was a church elder. She served ten years on the Kimble County Library Board and was a Charter Member of the Leti Study Club. The highlight of her week was to meet friends for coffee each Tuesday.

She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant son and her husband of 62 years.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her children, Katherine Cowsert Jacoby, Karen Cowsert Maynard and husband Stephen, and Gully Cowsert, III and wife Betty Sue; three grandchildren Katherine M. Maynard Krueger and husband Ross, Sean Maynard and Gully Cowsert IV; one great-grandchild, Tobias F. Krueger; and sister, Peggy Bedair.

Visitation will be held 5-7:00 PM, Monday, January 2, 2023 at Kimble Funeral Home.

Graveside Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 3, 2022 at the Copperas Cemetery in Junction with Rev. Jim and Rev. Laurie Barker officiating.

Pallbearers are Bailey Cowsert, Sean Maynard, Clay Simon, Kelly Simon, Steve Brown, and Buzzy Bierschwhale.  Honorary bearers are Kay Norris, Rosemary Hoggett, Joyce Alexander, Dorothy Murr and Peggy & E.L. Bedair, and Frank Randolph.
