Dorothy Boone

Dorothy Jean Stewart Boone, with her daughters by her side, went home to be with the Lord on November 5, 2015, at the age of 70. She was born on April 11, 1945, in Junction, to JL and Gertrude Stewart.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 8, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Kimble Funeral Home. Services are Monday, November 9, at 10 a.m. at Kimble Funeral Home with graveside services at 1:30 p.m. in Leakey at Leakey Floral Cemetery.
Jean enjoyed listening to music, singing, dancing, fishing, hunting rattlesnakes or anything to do with the outdoors. She enjoyed working with her hands and made many ceramic animals. Jean embraced life (raising eight children) and lived it to the fullest. Her skills in cooking were unmatched. She was unmoved in her faith in the Lord and instilled in her children to trust in the Lord, and in troubled times, to turn to Him for guidance and love. Every family member was touched by her grace and love. Her love for her children and grandchildren was powerful and everlasting. She had a laugh that could warm a heart, and a smile that could stop tears.
Survivors include her son, Jason Boone and wife, Rhonda, of Leakey; her three daughters, Loretta Cross and husband, Tommy, Sherrie Hickenbottom and husband, Chad, and Sandy Rotge and husband, Jeremy, all of Junction, and two daughters-in-law, Doris Boone of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, and Amy Kiolbassa of Center Point. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Jean was proceeded in death by three sons, Nathan, Sterling and Wesley; one daughter, Amanda; one great-grandson, Jaxon Boone; two brothers, Don Stewart and Barney Stewart, and her parents.
Jean will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Rest in Peace, Mom.
