Darlene Joan Smith

Darlene Joan Taylor Smith, 84, of Junction passed away on February 4, 2024 in Menard.  She was born February 7, 1939 in Lordsburg, New Mexico to Louie A. and Marion Louise (Busby) Taylor.  Darlene married Robert “Bobby” V. Smith on September 23, 1996 in Grandfalls, Texas.

Darlene is preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Crystal Marie Champion Hill Holcombe; great-grandchildren, Emily Rose Hill, Gregory Lynn Hill, Megan Gail Hill, and Carlin Brite Holcombe.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Barbara Lynn Brite Champion and husband Robert Lynn; son, Nowell Dennys Brite and wife Lourdez Lausell; grandchildren, Cody Monroe Brite; Bobbi Lynn Champion Holland and husband Preston Lynn, William Andrew Brite; great-grandchildren, Shane Ryan Champion, Ember Brite, Gracelynn Brite and Brooklyn Brite; brother, Alvy Ray Taylor and wife Gail Ivey.

A private service of remembrance will be held by the family at a later date.
