Coke Stevenson Corbo, 56, went to be with the Lord on March 13, 2016.
Coke was a wonderful human being, generous and charming to all, and known for his dry sense of humor. One of his special gifts was creative drawing. Coke loved his family and was a devoted husband and father. He was the great-grandson of Coke R. Stevenson, former Governor of Texas and grandson of Coke R. Stevenson, Jr., Administrator of Texas Liquor Control Board.
He was born in Austin and grew up in San Antonio, where he graduated from Winston Churchill High School in 1978. He went on to attend UT Austin and Stephen F. Austin.
His professional career was in Houston as an independent contractor in the oil & gas industry serving as a CAD operator.
Coke married Diane Phillips of Houston in 1982. They have one child, Coke Phillips Corbo of Houston.
Coke is preceded in death by his father, Mel Corbo; grandmother, Edith Scott Stevenson; and aunt, Scottie Gayle Stevenson.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 33 years, Diane Phillips Corbo; son, Coke Phillips Corbo; mother, Linda Stevenson Corbo; brothers, Scott Stevenson Corbo and David Watson; nieces, Danielle Elkhatib, Nicole Corbo, Holli Corbo and nephew, Pierce Corbo.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Stevenson Family Cemetery on the Stevenson Ranch.
