Billy Winkle

Billy Joe Van Winkle, 59, passed from this life on Sunday, January 5, 2020, in San Antonio, Texas.

Billy was born August 3, 1960 in Junction, Texas to parents Ed and Janie Van Winkle. He grew up in Rocksprings, Texas. Billy married Melinda on May 5, 1979 in Junction, Texas. He was employed by Alamo Cement working as maintenance repair. In his free time he enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns and San Antonio Spurs. He was a member of St. Helena's Catholic Church. Billy had a smile that could light up any room; he was an amazing dad, husband, brother and papo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Janie Van Winkle as well as brother, Michael Van Winkle and sister, Gail Van Winkle.

Billy is survived by his wife, Melinda Van Winkle; son, Billy Joe Van Winkle, Jr.; daughter, Stacy Rodriguez; grandchildren, Desmond Van Winkle, Dimitrius Van Winkle, Isayani Rodriguez, JaQuall Williams, JayShawn Williams, Markell Williams and Donovan Williams; siblings, Alicia Avila, Elias Barrera, Eddy Van Winkle, Peggy Taylor, Rick Van Winkle and Tommy Van Winkle.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be 7:00 PM, Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Kimble Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, January 10, 2020 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church with Father Innocent Eziefule as Celebrant.
