Billy Broyles

Billy Royce Broyles, 87, of Junction, TX passed from this life on Sunday, June, 28, 2020 at his residence.

Billy was born September 13, 1932 in Gonzales, TX to James Finas Broyles and Essceneth Alene (Baker) Broyles.  He grew up traveling all over the state of Texas with his dad’s Traveling Tent Show and by the age of six his family had settled in Junction.

Billy joined the Air Force in December of 1953 where he traveled to over 30 countries all over the world.  He was honorably discharged in December of 1957 and was married to the love of his life, Delia Irene (Sissie) Hurley on July 26, 1958 in Junction, TX.  He was extremely active in the community which included serving in the Lion’s Club and as a volunteer fireman.  He was also a member and coach of the Junction Little League Association, Junction Golf Association, Junction Track Club and Junction Tennis Association.  He served 12 years as a Junction school board member and was a member of the Church of Christ.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Alene Broyles; daughter, Sandy Beebe and son, Royce Broyles.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Sissie; son, Ward and his wife Donna; brother, Jimmy Broyles of San Antonio; sister, Velma Lou McQueen of San Antonio; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Lance Wright, David Hinds, Mark Castillo, Marcus Murr, Billy Dale, and Kenny Smart.

Honorary Pallbearers are Greer Kothman, Danny Stovall, Jackie Jones, Ed Stewart, Ray Bynum, Oscar Abilez, Don Baugh, Jay Carpenter, Rob Roy Spiller, Mick Cassiday, Dickey Adams, and Heather Treadwell.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Children Relief Fund, P.O. Box 19670, Amarillo, TX 79114.

A funeral service will be held at 4PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at One Faith Community Church, Rock Springs Highway, Junction, TX 76849.
