Barbara Diane Murr Fite, ''DeeDee,'' 72 of Magnolia, TX, died on January 16, 2017, in The Woodlands, TX after a long fierce battle with cancer.
Diane, or Dee Dee, as she was affectionately known after the birth of her granddaughter, was born on August 14,1944 in San Antonio, TX to Tommie and Mickey Murr. Diane grew up in Junction, TX, where she graduated high school. A graduate of University of North Texas, Diane was a lifelong teacher.
She married Ronald Scott Fite on July 28, 1970. Together, they had two daughters. As her girls grew up, Diane supported them in all of their 4H and barrel racing activities - rarely missing an opportunity to watch her girls compete. Even though Diane resided in many places in her adventurous lifetime, her heart was always in Junction.
During her retirement, Diane was a collector and loved gardening. Diane was passionate about her family and friends. She loved laughing and spending time with her loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her father, Tommie Murr and mother, Mickey Murr.
Survivors include husband, Ron Fite of Magnolia, TX, daughters Shannon Iverson (KC) and Jennifer of College Station, TX, brother, Jon (Mary) Murr, nieces Mikki Hand (Jacob) and Megan Holland (Asa), all of Junction, TX. Diane had one granddaughter, Iyla, whom she loved dearly and many friends. Diane also loved her yorkies - Tamale, Toola, Andy, and Baby.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Junction City Cemetery with Brandon Pierce officiating.
