Apolonia Orona

Apolonia Orona went peacefully to be with the Lord on March 25, 2017. She was born July 23, 1952 in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, and grew up in Hale Center, Texas. She married Salvador Orona on November 27, 1980 in Rocksprings. She was a kind hearted woman who devoted her life to her family and God. She enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and godmother. She was a parishioner at St. Theresa's Catholic Church where she served regularly as lector, sacristan and Eucharistic minister.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Buenaventura Gonzalez; sister, Eduvijes Porras; and two brothers, Pascual Gonzalez and Luciano Gonzalez.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband of 36 years, Salvador Orona; daughter, Bibiana Bryant & husband Scott of Iowa; daughter, Lupita Lopez & husband Sam of Center Point; son, Salvador Orona Jr. of Iowa; son, Paul Orona of Iowa; son, Adan Orona of Mason; grandchildren, Nichole Bryant, Savannah Lopez, Scott Lopez. Sammy Lopez, Aliayah Orona, Lilia Lopez; three brothers, Esequiel Gonzalez & wife Celia of Littlefield, Bonfacio Gonzalez & wife Maria of Hale Center, Bernadino Gonzalez & wife Elizama of Amarillo, five sisters, Matilde Hernandez of Hereford, sister, Carmen Mier & husband Antonio of Marshall,OK, Fidelia Roman & husband Felipe of Plainview, Raquel Villarreal & husband Casimiro of Plainview, Margarita Hernandez & husband Lupe of Cotton Center; 52 nieces & nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 30, 2017 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church with Father Albert Ezeanya as Celebrant. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be 7:00 PM, Wednesday at Kimble Funeral Home.
