Alta Bishop

Alta Fay Eastman Bishop, 91, of Junction, Texas passed from this life on December 2, 2016 at a local hospital.

Alta was born March 26, 1925 in Mason, Texas to Joseph Benjamin and Mary Parlee Gleghorn Eastman. She married Ira Vernon Bishop on June 15, 1946 in London, Texas. Alta had been a resident of the community since 1985 and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Junction.

Alta is preceded in death by her husband; sister, Lorene Bishop; and two brothers, Alvin Eastman and Clinton Eastman.

Those left to honor her memory include her son, Wayne Lee Bishop of San Antonio; daughter, Joyce M. Bowling of Bulverde; grandson, Reid Fowler of Jackson, Wyoming; granddaughters, Sarah Bishop of San Antonio and Jennifer Bishop of San Antonio; great-granddaughter, Emma Fowler and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Junction with Rev. John Curry officiating. Interment will follow in London Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 5-7:00 PM, Monday, December 5, 2016 at Kimble Funeral Home.
